Voice-over

Voice-over is a form of audio-visual translation most frequently used in documentary film. In most cases,
the speaker is first heard speaking his or her original language. Then the volume is lowered and a second voice appears, reciting a translated version, until the original language returns near the end of the speaker’s remarks.

Timing is crucial in this kind of work: The voice-over must be well-timed and brisker than the original audio, but still convey all of the most crucial information and maintain the speaker’s distinctive forms of expression.
